Tanker 4000 Litres with Dangerous Goods Approval

A 4000 Litre refuelling vehicle with full DGA compliances to carry diesel or ULP on public roads

Scope of Works: 4,000 Litre Diesel Tanker on Isuzu Cab/Chassis

Australian Fuelling Systems & Equipment will build and fit a 4,000 litre diesel tank and associated equipment to an Isuzu cab/chassis, ensuring full compliance with AS2809 1 & 2 for Road Tankers for Dangerous Goods.

Tank & Mounting

  • 4,000 litre capacity, curved head design with elliptical cross section
  • Mounted to chassis rails with 4 x TM400 spring-loaded brackets
  • Scully-type bottom fill system with overfill protection sensor probe and system wiring
  • API400 adaptor with cap at fill point
  • API401 bottom load dry break adaptor
  • Pneumatically operated bottom valve
  • Pneumatic interlock bar over API for vehicle immobilisation during filling/dispensing
  • Scully-compatible overfill protection system
  • No height safety rails required; hatch and equipment located at tank end for easy access from rear deck

Pump & Dispensing System

  • Alfons Haar pump, direct coupled to gearbox
  • NMI approved meter, built to pattern approval
  • DFV100 register with in-cab ticket printer
  • Haar pneumatically operated hose reel (20m x 25mm hose assembly)
  • ZVA25 automatic nozzle with swivel
  • All fittings and pipework welded and pressure tested
  • System fitted with pressure gauge

Safety & Compliance

  • All required HazChem signs fitted
  • In-cab equipment as per AS2809 1 & 2:
    • EPG cards & holder
    • Eyewash & bracket
    • Fire extinguisher (2 x 9kg with brackets)
    • Spill kit
    • Basic first aid kit
    • Flameproof torch
  • Operations manual (hard copy and electronic)
  • Rear collision protection and step-up for tank top access
  • Mudguards and brackets

Additional AS2809 1 & 2 Requirements

  • Shrouding of exhaust and hot parts/engine
  • Shrouding of lower exhaust pipe if required
  • Front splash guarding as per DG approval
  • Mechanical engine strangler
  • Vehicle wiring to AS2809: flameproof battery isolation switch, interlocked rollover sensor
  • Pneumatic interlock to vehicle brake system for immobilisation during filling/dispensing

Testing & Certification

  • Dangerous goods approved
    Owner to arrange road and EPA registrations
  • Pumpset verified and sealed for legal resale of fuel
